Water sources are drying up in parts of the Himalayas and people are forced to look elsewhere for places to live and work.
But new technology in irrigation might help people stay in their homes.
As water sources are drying up throughout different areas, a team has come together to set up tanks and a new system to help get closer to solving the problems with water and irrigation. The system consists of solar panels that are set up and can be maneuvered towards the direction of the sun. The direct current generated pumps the water from the source into the tanks and there are pipes that then connect the tanks with the village and the rest of the work is done by gravity.
This technology does not come cheap but it is hoped that it will provide a way forward to solving this growing problem.
