US opioid crisis: 41 states to investigate big pharma’s ‘role’

US President Donald Trump has called the opioid crisis a “national emergency”.

There are also calls for pharmaceutical companies to share more of the blame.

At least 41 states including New York have now joined together to investigate big pharma.

Some have already filed legal cases alleging deceptive marketing practices.
