Your views: Should the US have intervened to stop torture?

Among the 400,000 classified US documents released to Al Jazeera there are numerous reports which detail allegations of torture on Iraqis by Iraqi security forces. Should the US military have done more to close down the torture chambers and bring those responsible to justice?
