Your views: Should water be privatised?

While world leaders are focusing on the global financial crisis, a predicted water crisis could prove more devastating. The UN warns that worldwide demand for water is rising but access to safe drinking water remains inadequate in much of the developing world. Increases in population and climate change are depleting our freshwater supply. Is privatisation an effective solution? Who should be responsible for water management?
