A suicide attack has killed at least 16 people in a five-star hotel in northwest Pakistan. More than a dozen bomb attacks have killed at least 100 people across Pakistan since the Pakistani military began its offensive against Taliban fighters in the country's North West Frontier Province in late April. Have the attacks on civilian targets increased or diminished popular support for the offensive?
