Ukraine is in the grips of the coldest start to winter in many years.

Ukraine is experiencing its coldest spell of winter weather in many years. Heavy snow, strong winds and temperatures as low as minus 20C have taken their toll on the elderly and homeless. The death toll exceeds 80 and is expected to rise as the cold weather continues.
