Jordan's King Abdullah is travelling to Ramallah on Monday to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The visit to the occupied West Bank follows several weeks of tension in Jerusalem's Old City over discriminatory restrictions against Muslims at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

The relationship between Jordan and Israel has also been on shaky ground.

Al Jazeera's Scott Heidler reports from Ramallah.
