Bolshoi theatre uses artificial intelligence to restore history

Artificial intelligence is being used to trace the cultural history of Russia‘s Bolshoi theatre.

Thousands of volunteers have helped to digitise historic posters, programmes and photographs from past productions going back further than the Bolshevik Revolution.

The unique repertoire of material is being analysed by artificial intelligence and then published on the theatre’s website for the world to view.
