In Northern Iraq, government forces are pressing forward with their offensive on ISIL-held areas in Mosul.

The United Nations is warning of the grave danger posed to civilians as the final stages of the battle loom.

But it's not just Iraqi troops that are capturing ISIL-held areas.

Shia militias have advanced to the Syrian border - and some Sunni and Kurdish areas are now under control of the mostly Shia Popular Mobilisation Forces.
