Israel says it has killed five Palestinian fighters who broke through a tight naval cordon and came ashore near Zikim in southern Israel and attacked an army base.

Video released by the Israeli military shows the fighters landing on a beach and then firing their weapons before they are targeted by Israeli shells.

Zikim is 5km north of Gaza.

Nisreen el-Shamayleh reports.
