A powerful US senator has said he will block US aid to Egypt because of what he calls sham trials. On Monday, an Egyptian court sentenced 683 people to death, and Senator Patrick Leahy joined a growing chorus of politicians from both parties who want to stop the Obama administration from sending military aid to Egypt.
