The Syrian opposition has accused the government of committing genocide in Aleppo.

In December, the government of President Bashar al-Assad began an intensive campaign of barrel bombings, which activists say have killed more than 1000 people.

The bombing raids have devastated some of the city's busiest areas and forced tens of thousands to flee to government controlled areas or further north in to Turkey.

Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports.
