US vice president visits Ukraine amid crisis

US official is in Kiev as peace efforts with pro-Russian activists appear to be faltering.

    US Vice President Joe Biden has arrived in Ukraine in a show of support for the government in Kiev. 

    With violence on the rise, pro-Russian activists have also called on Moscow for help and Russia is hinting it might have to intervene. 

    Al Jazeera's Jacky Rowland reports from Eastern Ukraine.
