Moldova fearful of Russian troop build-up

Special forces mobilise in capital over fears Russia may try to destabilise former satellite states.

The crisis in Ukraine has put neighbouring Moldova on alert, with concern Russia may try to destabilise former satellite states.

Modolva's special forces battalion have been carrying out military exercises in the capital of Chisinau.

Moscow’s special forces, the Spetsnaz, are already feared to be based in Transnistria which broke away from Moldova after a bitter civil war in 1992.

Al Jazeera’s David Chater reports from Chisinau.
