High-speed train links Paris and Barcelona

Excited passengers boarded inaugural journey on new rail line that cuts travel time between the two cities in half.

The cities of Barcelona and Paris moved a little closer to each other on Sunday.

A newly-launched high-speed rail service has cut travel time between the two cities in half.

And while high-speed trains have proved controversial in Europe, there was no shortage of passengers willing to take the new route’s inaugural journey.
