Stadium opens 2,012 hours ahead of Olympics

Athletes get trial run of track as London venue opens 2,012 hours before official start of games in July.

London’s Olympic Stadium is formally open for business.

About 40,000 people attended an inauguration ceremony on Saturday, opening the stadium 2,012 hours before the official start of the games in July.

On hand were sports fans, Olympic planners and, of course, athletes, who got a trial run of the track.
