Iraqi ‘teenager’ faces UK eviction

Refugee faces deportation after authorities rule that he is 20 years old rather than 16.

Rabar Hamad, Iraqi 'teenager' faces UK eviction

An Iraqi refugee is preparing to be evicted from the children’s home where he has lived in Britain for the past 12 months.

Rabar Hamad may now face deportation because local authorities claim he is older than he says he is.

When he arrived in the UK in 2008, hidden in the wheel arch of a lorry, Rabar told officials he was 14.

However, two separate social workers have now assessed him and ruled that he is a 20-year-old man.
