Cuba migration reaches 20-year high

Official figures show almost 50,000 Cubans migrated permanently in 2012, most of them going to US.

Government figures show that almost 50,000 Cubans migrated permanently in 2012, the largest annual figure since 1994.

Most Cubans choose to migrate to the United States where they are granted residency even if they entered the country illegally.
