Peru issues alert over dengue fever

Government fumigates nearly 70,000 homes of sparsely inhabited areas in the Amazon to curb spread of the fever.

The government in Peru is on high alert following a new outbreak of dengue fever in the remote Amazon region.

The deadly disease has been sweeping through Peru for more than a year.
