Video-game profits score high in US
As industries downsize and outsource, game makers continues to look for talent in booming industry.

The US economy continues to struggle with unemployment, but one entertainment sector is booming despite a depressed economy: video games.

Last year, $25bn was spent on games, from blockbusters like Call of Duty 3 to iPhone hits like Plants vs. Zombies. That is more than was spent on movies or music.

With an expected average growth rate of eight per cent between now and 2015, video games are headed towards being worth more than the newspaper industry.

Al Jazeera's Rob Reynolds reports from Los Angeles, where many of the brightest graduates eschew traditional fields like engineering and medicine in hopes of helping to create the next Super Mario Brothers.
