Close race in US midterm polls
Republicans campaign for more funds in bid to pose serious challenge to Democrats in November 2 elections.

Opinion polls in the US have suggested that the opposition Republicans could regain control of the lower house of the US congress.

But with just two weeks to go before the midterm elections, the contest in some areas is expected to be close.

Leading Republicans such as Sarah Palin, a former vice-presidential candidate, is hot on the campaign trail and asking supporters to "dig deep".
