Nigeria investigates child-trafficking claims

Woman charged and jailed for running illegal orphanage in Lagos, after 25 children were rescued.

Child welfare officials in Nigeria raided the house where 25 children were kept after neighbours became suspicious about the number of children there.

The woman holding the children has been charged and jailed for running an illegal orphanage, and is being investigated on suspicion of trafficking.

Authorities say the children were kept in appalling conditions.
