Jelena Jankovic routed Caroline Wozniacki 6-3, 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open, winning a matchup of former tournament champions and number-one-ranked players.

Jankovic next plays either second-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska or 22nd-seed Alize Cornet.

Jankovic made the quarter-finals for the first time since winning the Indian Wells title in 2010, when she beat Wozniacki. The Dane won the title in 2011 and lost to Maria Sharapova in last year's final.

In the other women's draw match, sixth-seed Simona Halep of Romania beat Canada's Eugenie Bouchard 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 while Casey Dellacqua got a walkover against Lauren Davis.

On the men's side, Spain's Roberto Bautista beat Jarkko Nieminen of Finland 6-2, 4-6, 7-6. The 24-th seed Marin Cilic beat Tommy Robredo 6-4, 6-3.
