IPL’s back… with a twist

IPL’s seventh season starts in UAE as India’s Supreme Court resumes hearing into allegations of corruption.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) draws huge crowds and many of the world’s best players. But it also attracts more than its fair share of scandals.

The league’s seventh season is starting in tandem with the resumption of a Supreme Court investigation into corruption within the league.

Lawyers as well as cricketers are getting ready for a return to action.

N Srinivasan, the head of Indian cricket, has already been forced to step down while the inquiry is on-going.

Andy Richardson reports.
