Stephen Curry made a pull-up jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining to cap a sensational fourth quarter as the Golden State Warriors came from 18 points down to beat the Dallas Mavericks 95-93.

The Mavericks were in control from the start at the Oracle Arena on Wednesday, with Monta Ellis sinking a jumper in the first quarter that gave his side a 21-13 edge.

A fan favourite when he played for the Warriors, Ellis scored 21 points for the Mavericks.

In the second quarter, a Dirk Nowitzki jump shot put Dallas ahead 25-16.

Nowitzki tallied 21 points for the Mavericks.

Golden State star guard Curry was in fine shooting form, with his long three-pointer cutting the deficit in the second quarter to 40-34.

But Dallas then took over on offence and when Monta Ellis made another shot in the third quarter, the Mavericks were ahead 61-46.

    Sizzling Curry

Curry kept firing from long distance, and with another three-pointer his side moved closer, trailing by 62-56.

Harrison Barnes also sank a three-pointer for the Warriors, who were still behind 72-66.

Vince Carter's jumper gave Dallas a 78-66 edge in the fourth quarter, but when Curry sank a long three-point shot, the Warriors were level at 82-82.

Curry scored 16 of his 33 points in the final period, finishing with nine assists, four rebounds and another big shot in a young career already full of them.

Then Draymond Green thrilled the home fans with a three-pointer that put the Warriors ahead 93-92 with 49.9 seconds to play.

It was their first lead since the first quarter.

With the clock winding down and the game tied 93-93, Curry dribbled on the perimeter, came off a screen and faked a shot to send Shawn Marion jumping past him.

Curry then made a 19-footer to give Golden State the lead for good, with Jose Calderon heaving a desperation shot at the buzzer that was never close - the Warriors winning 95-93.
