The United States' professional basketball season could be in further jeopardy following the collapse of contract talks between top players and team owners.

The players rejected the latest pay offer from the National Basketball Association (NBA), and now say they plan to sue -meaning that fans could miss out on seeing Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and the rest of the game's stars in action.
