Afghanistan’s cricketers see their chances of qualifying for the World Twenty20 take a heavy blow with a defeat to the Netherlands in the qualifying tournament in Dubai.

Reaching the tournament in the West Indies would be a huge achievement for the team, who were ranked 130th in the world just 18 months ago.

Their exploits since then have seen them rocket to 15th and grab headlines around the globe, despite having just one pitch in their war-torn country.

As Al Jazeera’s Rahul Pathak reports, the dream could die if Afghanistan don’t reverse their fortunes in the next match against the UAE.
