Try time: Jean de Villiers scores against Namibia [GALLO/GETTY]

Springbok Jean de Villiers will miss the team's World Cup warm-up matches in Ireland and Scotland due to injury.

De Villiers was injured in Wednesday's 105-13 victory over Namibia in Cape Town.
It is believed de Villiers injured his rib cartilage, while the South African Rugby Board would say no more than he had received  "a bump to the side" but said the centre had being left in South Africa to recuperate.

He will rejoin the squad in Johannesburg on Aug. 31.

No replacement has been named for the tour.

The Springboks play Connacht on Aug. 21 and Scotland on Aug. 25.
