In almost every Western country immigration is a hot political issue. In the US immigration, legal and illegal, is focused on people coming from Mexico heading north to chase the American dream.

They risk arrest, deportation and even death in the desert of the American southwest. But if they make it to the US and find jobs they send back and bring back money that keeps their villages alive.

The number of people from south and central America which have gone to the US over the last three decades is beginning to radically change the demographics of American society.

But there are many who want to reduce and even hold what they see as the threat of illegal immigration across the poorest border with Mexico.

It puts young Americans of Mexican descent whose identities lie on both sides of the border in a confusing position.

A young American of Latino descent studying journalism at university decided to travel to Mexico to examine his own feelings as he witnessed the realitys of Mexican immigration first hand.

He heads to Mexico to unravel the complex emotions behind the hot political issue illegal immigration to the US and the perilous determination required to make the trip.
