Witness - The Singing Policemen of Bihar
The state of Bihar in India is notorious for having the highest crime rate in the country.
It also ranks as one of the poorest states and with their First World War rifles, Bihar's state police force is ill-equipped to tackle the murders, kidnappings and muggings that have become commonplace.
But now they have found a novel way to fight crime. They have created a police choir that sings songs designed to raise awareness of and combat crime.
Bihar has a vibrant tradition of folk music and singing has proved a perfect vehicle to deliver a mass message in a state where many are illiterate.
