Watch part two

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Pakistani foreign minister, talks to Al Jazeera about the recent attacks in Pakistan that killed hundreds of people and his view of the Taliban's increasing power in the region.

He talks about the challenges his country faces in tackling terrorism and the methods he believes should be taken to eliminate the militants.

He tells Al Jazeera: "The menace is growing in Pakistan and it's affecting the economy, investment and growth which leads to the destabilisation of the country."

Qureshi believes the Pakistani government must devise not only a military but a political solution to the problems facing the country and that combating poverty is key to diminishing the militants' support base and recruiting grounds.

He says: "We are no longer in denial and we have accepted the challenge, which will lead to improvement and reform."

This episode of Talk to Jazeera can be seen from Monday, November 2, 2009 at the following times GMT: Monday: 0830, 1630, 2330; Tuesday: 0130, 1930.
