Polo has a future in the country

The sport of Polo is known as the Sport of kings, with a rich history and an association with aristocracy. So it's not a sport you might associate with communist China.

But that's changing - Polo is gaining popularity there, although enthusiasts have had to go to great lengths to participate - even so far as to cross-breed horses suitable for the sport.

In China, Polo ponies, like gambling, are banned. Al Jazeera's Melissa Chan went to find out whether Polo has a future in the country.

Chaotic Climax

The World Cup recieved a boost with the
success of the first Twenty20 championships

2007 was an important year for cricket. The World Cup in the Carribbean was beset with problems, but the sport did receive a boost with the resounding success of the first World Twenty20 championships.

And now Asia wants to get in on the act. Lesser known cricketing nations such as Yemen, Qatar, Oman and Afghanistan have been competing for the inaugural A.C.C. Twenty20 Cup.

And as Andy Richardson reports, the event came to a thrilling climax.

The African nation of Kenya has a reputation for producing an incredible number of top distance runners. But what's their secret?

Well, Al Jazeera's Joanna Gasiorowska traveled to the 'dizzy' heights of Kenya's high-altitude "Rift Valley" to find out more.
