On Thursday, we speak with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki about the challenges facing his country.

The United States has threatened recently to designate Eritrea as a 'state sponsor of terrorism' for its alleged support of the Islamic Courts in Somalia, a charge which Asmara dismisses as 'baseless.'

If the designation goes ahead, sanctions would be imposed on this already impoverished African nation.

President Afwerki will also discuss the ongoing border dispute between his country and Ethiopia, as well as Eritrea's role in the region.
