Rajendra Pachauri
The Nobel Peace Prize winner on the race to deal with the dangers of climate change.
Last Modified: 30 Jan 2010 14:01 GMT

Without a radical change in the way the world addresses the dangers of climate change hundreds of millions of people will become climate refugees, according to Dr Rajendra Kumar Pachauri.

Pachauri is the chairman of the UN intergovernmental panel on climate change, which was the co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore, the former US vice president.

Pachauri believes that climate change should be considered an ethical issue because the poorest nations will suffer the most - even though they have created far less of the damage that has contributed to the climate change problem.

This week on One on One, he outlines his concerns to Riz Khan, talking about his formative years growing up in India, and the people who have shaped his life.

This episode of One on One can be seen from Saturday, January 30, at the following times GMT: Saturday: 0130, 1630; Sunday: 0430; Monday: 0300, 1230.
