Watch part 2

Fox News and the White House have been at each others' throats since long before Barack Obama took office.

However, when the new US president's administration launched a broadside against Fox, it took the media war over American politics to a new level.

As the disagreement grew louder and more heated, Fox's ratings soared and the US media have been mesmerised by the row.

Fox is open about the conservative bent of its commentators but insists the rest of its reporting is unbiased. On the ohter hand the White House argues Fox is the propaganda arm of the Republican Party rather than a news channel.

Hoodwinked

Elsewhere Meenakshi Ravi takes a look at the growing phenomenon of hoaxing the news media, and tricking them into running stories that are just not true.

A prime example is the case of the six-year-old American boy Falcon Heene, whose parents fooled reporters into believing he was trapped in a home made balloon as it floated across Colorado, tracked by the US air force and media, when all along the boy was hidden safely at home.

The coverage, particularly on 24-hour news channels, was wall to wall. What motivates people to hoodwink the media? Some do it out of mischief or for the notoriety.

Finally, two-and-a-half years and more than 129 million viewings after the video was first posted, there is a new king of the Internet hit parade charts.

Entitled Charlie Bit My Finger – Again, the YouTube clip has made unlikely international stars of British brothers Harry and Charlie Davies-Carr.

They have featured on all kinds of television shows and even have fan clubs in Lebanon and Belize.

The two of them have now had more YouTube hits than the previous industry leader – a comical dance video entitled Evolution.

A 55-second video clip that was intended for an online audience of just one, their grandfather, has become the most watched YouTube video of all time. Watch it here.
