Thousands of Yemenis have protested in many cities across Yemen against the government takeover by Shia Houthi rebels as the threat of civil war increases.

The deteriorating situation has forced many countries to close their embassies including the United States and Saudi Arabia.

It all comes as the United Nations is warning of dire consequences if a solution is not reached. So, is Yemen sliding into further chaos? And what does this mean for the region?
