Days before the US presidential elections, an alleged plot to assassinate Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate, has been uncovered.
It is claimed that two white Americans planned to go on a national killing spree targeting black people, with Obama as their final target.
Although many think that such plots are not part of an orchestrated campaign of racial intimidation, it still reveals the depth of race as an issue in the ongoing presidential election campaign.
So what would it mean for the US to have a black president? And is the country ready for that?
