Imad Moghaniyah, a Hezbollah military commander, died late on Tuesday in a car bombing in Damascus, the Syrian capital.

The Lebanese group has accused Israel of assassinating him.

Moghaniyah had been on the 'wanted' list of the US and Israel for many years. They accuse him of being behind a string of abductions and attacks which left hundreds of people dead.

His killing came on the eve of a mass rally in Beirut to mark the third anniversary of the assassination of Rafiq al-Hariri, a former prime minister of Lebanon.

Who was behind Moghaniyah's killing, and what will the repercussions be? Inside Story, with presenter Hashem Ahelbarra, investigates.
