Gulf leaders have begun a two-day summit in Doha, to which they have invited Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, amid a row over Iran's nuclear programme.

With Ahmadinejad calling for a security pact to be concluded between Iran and the Gulf countries, would the GCC leaders consider committing themselves to any security arrangements that run against US interests in the Gulf?
 
On the economic front, in view of the recent decline in the US dollar's value how do GCC countries see the future of their currencies and are they now more enthusiastic about developing their own unified Gulf currency?
