A high-level Iraqi delegation has arrived for talks with Turkish officials in Turkey as tensions continue to rise between the two nations.

Turkey has massed its troops on Iraq's northern border, while Kurdish PKK fighters in Iraq have said they are ready to fight.

In the background is the US - a friend to both the Turks and the Kurds.

As the threat intensifies, can the US intervene to forge a solution, or will the two sides slide into all out war?

Inside Story investigates.
