President Bush made a surprise visit to Al Anbar.

The visit coincided with the withdrawal of the British troops to outside Basra city, at a time when the South of Iraq is witnessing security deterioration.

Meanwhile the US embassy in Iraq says the Maliki government is not capable of enforcing anticorruption laws.

It looks as if both the US and the Iraqi government are frantically trying to pre-empt the Patrios-Kroker report expected in less than two weeks.
