Marwan Bishara is Al Jazeera English's senior political analyst and the editor and host of Empire , the channel’s flagship current affairs discussion programme, which examines global powers and their agendas.

Previously, Bishara was a lecturer of International Relations at the American University of Paris and a fellow at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.

An author who writes and speaks extensively on global politics, Bishara is widely regarded as a leading authority on many of today’s most relevant global issues, US foreign policy and the greater Middle East.

He is the author of several books, including The Invisible Arab: The Promise and Peril of the Arab Revolutions and Palestine/Israel: Peace or Apartheid.

His analysis has been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek, The Guardian, Le Monde, The Nation, The Huffington Post, and other publications.
