Angola: Birth of a Movement
Activist - Luaty, Mbanza and Carbono

Political activists Luaty, Mbanza and Carbono are three friends from Luanda city, the capital of Angola. The young trio have grown up in a country where the president has been in power for over three decades and where dissent and protests have been stifled.

Inspired by the Arab uprisings in 2011, the three activists took to the streets, demanding an end to decades of mismanagement and corruption. Since then, they have been joined by thousands of other protesters.

Arrested, harassed, beaten – they refuse to step down as they strive to create a movement.
