Hun Sen, the prime minister, of Cambodia, talks
exclusively to 101 East
On the eve of Cambodia's July elections, 101 East talks to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Decades of civil war and the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge left Cambodia ravaged.

But today, with foreign investors flooding the market and the discovery of oil off the coast, the country looks set for a new era of sustained economic growth.

Overseeing its development is Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen, who is South-East Asia's longest-serving head of state.

And it looks like his reign is set to continue.

On July 27, Cambodia goes to the polls again for general elections and Hun Sen is widely expected to further consolidate his power.

However, his country still faces many challenges with entrenched corruption, rising global commodity prices and dependence on foreign aid.

It is rare for the prime minister to speak to foreign media.

On the eve of elections, Prime Minister Hun Sen gives an exclusive interview to 101 East host Teymoor Nabili, about his plans for Cambodia's future.
