Al Qaeda has apparently found a new number one enemy in Iraq since the US ended its combat mission in the country on Tuesday.
 
An armed group of Sunnis - known as Awakening Councils or Sahwa - say they have become the main target of attacks from Al Qaeda.  
 
The Sahwa, many of whom used to fight US-led coalition forces in Iraq before switching sides, took up arms against Al Qaeda late in 2006 until 2008 with backing from the foreign troops.

They have been credited with helping reduce violence across the country, but now many members of the group fear the consequences of the departure of US troops.
