Tony Blair, the Middle East envoy for the international Quartet, comprising the UN, EU, US and Russia, spoke to Al Jazeera about Israel's deadly raid last month on an aid flotilla heading for the Gaza Strip.

He said the attack, which led to the deaths of nine pro-Palestinian activists on board the convoy's Turkish lead ship Mavi Marmara, helped push the Israeli government into easing restrictions on the blockaded Palestinian coastal territory.
