Israeli soldiers have shot and killed a Palestinian protester during a weekly demonstration against Israel’s separation wall in the West Bank town of Bilin, according to witnesses.
The violence came as George Mitchell, the US envoy to the Middle East, met Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, serving as a bloody reminder of the stalled peace process.
