While the gates remain closed, much needed aid is piling up on the Israeli side of the Gaza border. Inside the territory, meanwhile, one million Palestinians rely on food handouts to survive.

They are desperate for other everyday items. Al Jazeera’s Mike Kirsch reports from Gaza City, that the shortage is leading to a thriving black market.
