It was known as the House of Peace – a building Jewish settlers say they bought from a Palestinian in the city of Hebron. But then the deal went bad.
Now violence has broken out after Israeli police tried to enforce a court order telling the settlers to leave the building.
Clubs and tear gas were used by Israeli security forces to remove the settlers, prompting hours of running battles which left dozens of people hurt. Dan Nolan reports.
