The third round of indirect talks, lasting two days in Istanbul, ended on Thursday.

The two countries are negotiating the future of the strategic Golan Heights.

Israel took the Golan Heights, which Syria wants returned to them, in a 1967 war.

A Turkish foreign ministry statement said: “The two sides reiterated their common will to continue their talks and agreement to continue meeting regularly. The talks took place in a constructive and positive atmosphere.”
